The Society for Studies in the History of English Language Education (HELE Society), which is still in its nascent stage, is a voluntary and open group of academics and researchers interested in HELE in India. The Society aspires to evolve into a vibrant community of people interested in HELE and aims to promote historiographical research in ELE, documenting and conserving valuable historical resources and encouraging and supporting the dissemination of knowledge of HELE in India. Anyone interested in HELE is welcome to join the Society. The group held its first conference in Delhi on December 5-6, 2022 and the second in Hyderabad on December 12-13, 2023.
